В краю древних скал и легенд

С 6 по 11 мая группа учащихся гимназии в рамках российско-финского проекта «Национальные парки» посетили национальный парк Коли в Финляндии.

Русские и финские ребята проживали на ферме Матила одной большой дружной семьей. За 5 дней они успели совершить пешие маршруты по туристическим тропам, познакомиться с перманентным ведением хозяйства и оказать помощь парку.

Национальный парк Коли основан в 1991 году. Достопримечательности национального парка Коли включают пункты наблюдения, природные направления, культурные ландшафты и исторические памятники.

Знакомство с парком началось с посещения туристического центра Укко, который находится в Ukko-Koli. В дополнение к просмотру фильма о красотах природы, мы побывали на выставке, узнали много фактов об истории и развитии парка.
Для того чтобы увидеть многие из достопримечательностей национального парка Коли, необходимо подняться на холмы, что мы и сделали после посещения центра. Вид, открывающийся с холма Ukko-Koli на озеро Hill Pielinen, является одним из самых известных национальных пейзажей в Финляндии. Пик Ukko-Koli имеет высоту 354 метра над уровнем моря и 253 метра над поверхностью озера Pielinen. Холмы Коли являются остатками древней горной цепи, которая образовалась почти два миллиарда лет назад, когда тектонические плиты столкнулись друг с другом. Озеро Pielinen является пятым по величине озером Финляндии.

В национальном парке обитает множество птиц. Наиболее интересными видами птиц являются скопы, синехвостки и чайки. В один из дней мы встали в 4 утра, вооружились биноклями, подзорной трубой и поехали на смотровую башню наблюдать за птицами. Смотровая башня Räsävaara имеет высоту всего 18 метров, но ее расположение на вершине холма поднимает смотровую точку на более чем 300 метров над уровнем моря. Мы забрались на самый верх башни в предвкушении увидеть обилие птиц, но только несколько человек успели увидеть тетерева.
	В этот же день мы проделали большой маршрут до водопада Tarhapuro, и на обратном пути попали под дождь. Но ничего не могло сломить наше хорошее настроение, которое мы закрепили, жаря сосиски на костре под проливным дождем. Самым ценным в нашем проекте было общение, которое велось на английском языке. Совместные дела сплотили и подружили нас. Итог данного этапа проекта подвел чудесный заключительный вечер. Спасибо всем, кто принимал участие в проекте! *Ирина Анатольевна Ромашкина*

Рабочим языком проекта является английский, поэтому и свои отчеты о поездке участники написали по-английски. Но мы уверены, что для наших учеников не составит труда прочитать и перевести их.
Last week some people from our school and I participated in an exchange program. The aim of the program is to develop international relations. During this project we received the information about a state of permanent agriculture. On the second day we had a lecture about ecology. We learned a lot about the ecology of our planet. Then we had a chance to practice. We tilled land and made different agricultural devices. I find our trip delightful and exciting. In conclusion I would like to add that we have learned a lot of new and useful things. *Дмитрий Мосенков, 10А*

While being on holiday in Koli National Park I learnt some ways to build unique garden beds. All the students were divided in two groups. The first group was implementing the project called «Mandala garden» and our group of ten was making a «Herbal spiral». Basically the idea of Herbal spirals is to get as many different herbs as possible in a confined area. Such construction will receive heat from compost system and from the sun. Rain water will flow down from the top of the spiral to get to the plants that mostly need it.
We spent 3 hours building the spiral. At first we dug a hole in the ground. It was 2 meters in diameter and 50 cm deep. Then we laid the hole with a cardboard and poured it with water. After that we put big rotten tree branches inside and made a stone «frame» of a spiral. Our boss told us that our spiral should be 1 meter high, so we began filling the spiral with compost and tree sawdust. At the end we put some soil on the top of our spiral. The main advantage of such garden bed is that it doesn’t require fertilizing. Personally I was pleased with making a Herbal spiral in Koli National Park area and I hope to make it near our family country house. *Артемий Берников, 10Б*


Hooray, it's an adventure time! Before that trip we had been told that we were going to observe the nature of the national park, watch the birds at early morning, enjoy fantastic views and fresh air. All that things seemed to me very romantic, so i agreed to take part in that program without any doubt. Nobody supposed that such nice entertainment can turn into unexpected probation and unforgettable adventure! One of the most exiting days during our trip started at 3.15... 3.30. Sleepy and gloomy, we're in a bus that took us to look out the tower of Rasavaara (18 metres high).
4.00. We're looking for the birds and trying to count them. As for me, i haven't found any birds at all, so I am little bit dissappointed. 4.30. The sunrise is amazing! Colorous sky becomes brighter every minute, sun rays get through the dark clouds and everything around is like in a fairytale. 5.00. The weather isn't fine: +7 and a strong wind. That's why some of my friends and i decide to dance and sing to warm up. Today is the 9th of May, the Victory Day, so our repertoire consists of military songs. 8.00. Mattila, sweet Mattila. Everybody sleeps like a child.
Actually, the first part of that day wasn't as complicated as the second one... Then we had had to walk for about 15 km across the national park! 13.00. We start our walk from the place where ancient karjalans asked their gods to help and to be clement for them. That place was also used as a place for the judgment and execution. People threw off a man from high rock to the lake, if he was guilty, he would die, if not - he was lucky enough to continue his life. 14.00. Just about 10 km left. See beautiful waterfall with «anti-aging» water. The forest looks like magic forest from horror stories. Idyllic place for trolls and witches!
15.00. 6 km left. Heavy rain begins. Our Mood is falling down. 15.30. We are on the top of the rock Ukko-Koli. Although we are so tired that even can't say a word, view from the rock deeply impresses us. Breathtaking view of ancient nature, wilde lakes, endless forests and rainy sky take me away from the ground. All troubles are forgotten: the nature helps to feel the energy and strengh. 16.00. 4 km left. The rain hasn’y stopped yet. We are soaked to the skin!
17.00. Thankfully, we are at home! Householder Kaja in Mattila meets us with hot tea and tasty food:) That «little» unexpected trip will be never forgotten. We were shown the best places of the south Finland, learned a lot about nature and ecosystem of Koli, tested ourselves for patience and stamina.
